#1) QUESTION "What is The Exchange?"
ANSWER: The Exchange is an area that contains fine brass models that have been consigned through Brass Guide. In the coming months we will also have a "Dealer and Classifieds" section to further enhance your buying and selling experience.
#2) QUESTION "What makes The Exchange so different for the Buyer?"
ANSWER: The Exchange is unlike any other consignment shop in that we are here for not only the buyer, but also the seller. A potential buyer on The Exchange is assured that the item he is contemplating to purchase has already undergone some of the most detailed scrutiny in the industry. Each model listed by Brass Guide will be completely analyzed and Graded on overall Appearance, Mechanical/Electrical Performance and Box Condition. In addition, any Custom Modifications such and Sound, Custom Paint, Lights, etc. are factored into the overall grade. This Grade is then systematically entered into our Grading Calculator and compared to the Current Market Value as noted in the latest edition of the Brass Model Trains Price and Data Guide, and a overall value is determined. A final Certificate of Appraisal, which is Sealed and Certified by Brass Guide, is shipped with each model that is sold as proof of the value of that piece. By the way, what we did not mention yet is that each model we consign receives the most incredible photography of your potential model. Before you buy, you will be able to examine practically every detail of your model by use of our "Zoomify" system. Simply click on the photo of any model listed in The Exchange and you will be redirected to the details page where our Zoomify is located. There you can zoom in on a model using the tools in the Zoomify window or simply choose "View Large Image" to get an immediate magnification of the photo. We are confident that you will agree that The Exchange is the most powerful tool for consignment of brass model trains on the internet today. This is the one place that you are assured of what you are buying before you make the purchase.
#3) QUESTION "What makes The Exchange so different for the Seller?"
ANSWER: For a Seller who wishes to consign their models through The Exchange, you will find this transaction to be among the easiest and most accurate on the market today. Forget about ebay, the Exchange is now the way to go. Here is why. Sellers will be able to track each and every phase of consignment through their personal and private "My Exchange" area. (To find "My Exchange" simply click on the "Account" button at the top of this page) Through "My Exchange" you will select the models you wish to consign, print your own packing slip for your records, then send them to Brass Guide. Following that, you will be able to view, at any time, the current status of each item in your lot. When your items are received by Brass Guide you will be notified. Then when they are appraised you will be sent confirmation of the Grade and Appraisal price for your review. You can choose to Accept, Reject, or even Hold an item for later review. Once an items price is Accepted by the Seller it is photographed, given a Cetificate of Appraisal, and then automatically listed on The Exchange for sale. When an item sells you will be immediately notified of the transaction and then you can track everything right to your final settlement payment. We will also maintain a history in the "My Exchange" area for you to view all past items you have sold via The Exchange.
